Automatically open JPEG in Camera Raw

Camera Raw plug-in is a powerful tool, which can
work not only with the "raw" data in RAW, but
with JPEG-and TIFF-files From a practical point of view it is very convenient because you have on hand are all required for photo-editing tools. Unfortunately, however, open the file in JPEG format Camera Raw directly from Windows Explorer you can not. You will first need to run Adobe Bridge, to find in it an image file, and clicking on the right mouse button, select «Open in Camera Raw».

You can also open Photoshop, go to the menu «File |
Open As ...», in the dialog box, select the file type
«Camera Raw» and click «Open».

However, these workarounds are time consuming and
not very comfortable. If you want the files in JPEG
and TIFF default to open in Camera Raw, you must
perform the following steps. Start Photoshop, go to
the menu «Edit | Preferences» and select «Camera
Raw Preferences». The above menu can be opened and
through Adobe Bridge, referring to the menu «Edit».

For the item «JPEG and TIFF Handling» to set the
following properties: «JPEG: Automatically open all
supported JPEG» and «TIFF: Automatically open all
supported TIFF». Confirm your changes by clicking
"OK." Now, if you click on the image right and select
"Open with | Photoshop», after starting the file
format JPEG or TIFF opens in plugin «Camera Raw».
